If you have a location, property or building that you think would be suitable for filming please consider submitting it to our location guide.
The gallery is used by local and international film and television productions seeking options for public and private locations across Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.
We invite property owners and facility or venue managers to complete the online location submission form to upload locations directly into our location gallery.
Once reviewed, the listing can immediately be made viewable to productions seeking locations for their projects, both from Screen Auckland’s website and app, and from our gallery platform’s collection of world-wide listings at LocationsHub.com. The owner or manager can then deal directly with productions interested in filming there.
The location gallery submission form asks for your contact details, a description of the site available, and photographs of the location.
The Screen Auckland location gallery is available online and via the Screen Auckland app currently available for iPhone.
We also welcome location gallery referrals, so feel free to share our details with your network.
- A thorough location description
Comprehensive details improve category and keyword search results. In the location description, it’s useful to include details about:
- Facilities and amenities.
- Available formed parking, or open/flat spaces which can be used for base areas and crew parking.
- Types of terrain at the location, e.g., gardens, bush, farmland, private roads, lanes or alleys, sealed parking, gravel hardstands.
- Brief descriptions or lists of particular or unusual features e.g., open land, bush, scenic views, ponds or streams, additional buildings. These will show up in keyword searches, and it is valuable if one location can represent different environments.
- Direct contact details
To make it easier for productions interested in your location to make direct contact, please include a phone number, email address and website links where applicable. Where possible it’s best to include a direct contact rather than generic. Let us know if there are any contact details that you prefer not to be published online.
- A selection of unedited landscape-oriented photographs
Your gallery listing should give the viewer an accurate sense of the location so they can assess if it is workable for their requirements. The best image galleries have:
- A variety of unedited landscape-oriented photographs of the same size and resolution (approximately 3-5MB recommended per image).
- Wide angle photographs of the location or an area of the location (overview shots or aerials of sites are also helpful if available).
- Close-up photographs of particularly interesting aesthetics (e.g., stained-glass windows, wooden archways, tiling etc.).
- If the location has great parking, covered space or amenities it is helpful to include photos.
- Uploading photos in a logical sequence is helpful.
