Screen Auckland and Auckland Transport (AT) have recently clarified the steps and responsibilities involved in filming or parking within the AT road corridor, with updated guidance now live in our Filming Within Road Corridors page.
The two key requirements are:
Since January 2024, all traffic-related approvals for filming activities must go through the MyWorksites platform. This new requirement ensures improved coordination between production teams, traffic management providers, and AT.
Screen Auckland can only issue a Film Permit that requires road corridor access once:
- A FilmApp Initial Activity Proposal (IAP) is approved by Auckland Transport, and
- A Traffic Management Plan (TMP) is approved via MyWorksites (if required).
The updated process makes it clear who is responsible for what at each stage—from location managers and TMP providers to Screen Auckland and AT. It also includes critical updates on:
- How and when to escalate urgent requests
- Parking resolution cancellation timeframes and potential late fees
- Consultation requirements with residents and businesses
- Proper use of Film Parking Permits
- Upcoming transition to e-permits
Whether you’re filming a small footpath scene or closing a road, understanding these processes will help keep your film permit application compliant and processing smoothly.
